Barndominium, Shop & Metal Building Insulation
Metal buildings heat up fast and sweat in humid weather. Spray foam stops both — so your barndo, shop or barn stays comfortable and dry.
The insulation metal buildings actually need
Steel panels transfer heat quickly and collect condensation when warm, humid air meets the cooler metal. Batts and blankets leave seams and gaps where that air gets through.
Closed-cell spray foam bonds directly to the panels, purlins and girts, creating a continuous air and vapor barrier. Many barndominiums then add open-cell foam in interior walls for sound control.

Why closed-cell foam is the standard
It stops condensation at the source, adds rigidity to panels and delivers high R-value in a thin layer. That keeps interior space usable and protects tools, equipment and finishes from moisture. Learn about closed-cell foam.
New builds and existing buildings
We can spray during construction — before interior framing goes up — or retrofit an existing building. Coordinating with your builder early usually saves time.

Barndominium & Metal Building Insulation FAQ
Still have a question? Call 9402910138 or send a quick request and we will get back to you.
How much does it cost to spray foam a barndominium?
It depends on square footage, foam type and thickness. Closed-cell on the walls and roof is the most common approach. We give a free written estimate after measuring.
Do I need closed-cell foam in a metal building?
For the exterior shell, yes in most cases — it is what stops condensation on the metal. Interior walls can use open-cell.
Can you insulate a pole barn with open sides?
We insulate the enclosed portions of the building. If you plan to close it in later, we can talk through the order of work.
More ways we can help
Air-sealing insulation for walls, attics and rooflines in new and existing buildings.
Soft, expanding foam that seals and quiets homes — great for attics and interior walls.
Dense, high R-value foam that blocks moisture and adds strength to metal and exterior walls.
Seal the roof deck so your attic stays near living-space temperature through Texas summers.
