Spray Foam Insulation Cost in Texas (2026 Guide)
What spray foam costs in Dallas–Fort Worth and North Texas, what drives the price and how to compare quotes.
How spray foam is priced
Spray foam is usually priced by the board foot — one square foot of foam, one inch thick. Multiply the area by the thickness to get board feet, then by the price per board foot.
| Service | Typical DFW range (per board foot) | Common uses |
|---|---|---|
| Open-cell spray foam | $0.45 – $0.75 | Attics, rooflines, interior walls |
| Closed-cell spray foam | $1.00 – $1.75 | Metal buildings, crawl spaces, exterior walls |
| Old insulation removal | Quoted per job | Damaged, wet or rodent-soiled attic insulation |
Ranges reflect pricing published by North Texas spray foam contractors in 2026 and are for planning only. Your written estimate is based on your building.
Six things that move the number
Foam type
Closed-cell costs more per board foot than open-cell but adds moisture control and strength.
Thickness
More inches means more board feet. Code and the R-value you want set the depth.
Area & access
Steep roofs, tight attics and crawl spaces take more time and setup.
Removal & prep
Pulling out old insulation or prepping surfaces adds labor.
Building type
Metal buildings, barndos and new construction are priced differently than retrofits.
Location
Travel to rural properties can be part of the quote.
How to compare spray foam estimates
- Ask for foam type and thickness in each area — in inches, not just “R-value”
- Confirm what happens to existing insulation
- Ask whether old attic vents get sealed
- Check who handles cleanup and disposal
- Get the price in writing
Cost questions
Still have a question? Call 9402910138 or send a quick request and we will get back to you.
What is a board foot?
One square foot of foam, one inch thick. A 1,000 sq ft roof deck sprayed 6 inches thick is about 6,000 board feet.
Why is closed-cell more expensive?
It uses more material per board foot and is denser. It also does more — vapor barrier, higher R-value per inch and added strength — so it is used where those matter.
Are there rebates or tax credits for insulation?
Federal credits and local utility programs change over time. Check current federal energy-efficiency credits and your electric provider’s programs before you book — we can provide the paperwork details you need.
